A MODEST WORLD goes in search of the anonymous adventurers of daily life, people who blow up all of our official aesthetic codes, and transform insignificant things into works of art. "Modest art" is an anarchic jumble. It consists of outsider art, singular art, wacky collectors, folk art, votive art, garden gnomes, or weather vanes made from scrap recovered from landfills.

Far from any traditional school of art or easy classification, A MODEST WORLD tackles several of the practices of modest art, showing its vitality and universality.

"A lively documentary... Singular and endearing encounters."Le Monde
