A perceptive six-year-old child searching for stability and a sense of belonging. When sudden tragedy strikes, their lives are unexpectedly intertwined as each must confront deeply held beliefs and unspoken fears.

In THE TIES THAT BIND US, Carine Tardieu's gently observed adaptation of Alice Ferney’s novel L’Intimité, she explores the many forms that love and parenthood can take, portraying how grief and intimacy can transform the ways in which people choose — and learn — to create a family.
