France’s Restorative Justice program has offered victims and perpetrators of violent crime the opportunity to come together and engage in dialogue. Inspired by this, writer/director Jeanne Herry’s poignant ensemble drama ALL YOUR FACES brings together a rich tapestry of characters—perpetrators and victims alike—to explore this process of forgiveness.
Victims Grégoire (Gilles Lellouche), Nawelle (Leïla Bekhti), and Sabine (Miou Miou) sit face-to-face with Nassim, Issa, and Thomas, who have been convicted of violent robberies. In addition, Chloé (Adèle Exarchopoulos, in a Cesar Award-winning performance), a survivor of childhood sexual abuse, must confront the past in order to define the future on her own terms.
Unflinching in its honesty, ALL YOUR FACES doesn’t shy away from the difficult emotional vulnerability of these encounters—while leaving open the possibility of genuine healing.
